Job brief:
The Product Manager, SEO is responsible for initiating and managing the optimization of mobile apps, mobile web and web for The Weather Channel platforms through SEO and ASO. Reporting to the Content Product Lead this individual will support all SEO/ASO initiatives to improve organic traffic for TWC platforms. This person will work with internal and external teams to increase quality traffic, maximize website performance, improve rankings, and drive revenue organically. The Product Manager, SEO will be an expert in search engine optimization with a thorough understanding of the technical and creative aspects of mobile, mobile web and web optimization best practices. The Product Manager, SEO is responsible for tracking industry search optimization trends, evaluating the marketplace and keeping abreast of emerging trends.
The impact you'll make:
- Lead and manage overall SEO and/or ASO strategies across all platforms (mobile apps, mobile web, and web)
- Develop a strategy within search to acquire new customers and reactivate lapsed customers
- Lead and prioritize all SEO/ASO projects within the digital business unit from concept to release. Define, manage and implement the SEO product backlog
- Initiate and lead SEO expertise to product plans including site redesigns, product enhancements, and new features by contributing to the Product requirements and acceptance criteria
- Align business, product, development and SEO activities for the highest traffic impact
- Set up a process to make recommendations based on analysis via Adobe Analytics / Google Analytics to increase traffic and revenue across all TWC brands
- Continuously educate, collaborate with design, editorial, product and technical teams to implement SEO best practices across all mobile and web properties to ensure search engine optimization compliance
- Lead key SEO presentations and strategic discussions
- Report monthly SEO KPIs (key performance indicators)
- Monitor keyword rankings
- Stay on top of current search engine news, trends, SEO best practices, and emerging items of interest and sharing these with the rest of the team
What you've accomplished:
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
- 3-5 years SEO experience across all major search engines with a proven ability to establish key performance indicators to measure success vs. key objectives, for both web and mobile
- Experience with keyword search, ranking and analysis tools
- Familiarity with online SEO resources, tools, blogs, forums and professional organizations
- Experience with technical aspects of SEO from optimal site architecture to proper coding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with ASO
- Minimum 3 years in the digital environment bringing large, complex projects through to successful launch
- Experience working within the news media industry preferred
- Proven success in leading cross-functional teams and projects
