Tire Testing Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Ensure testing results are available by the required due date
Review master tire testing reports and report to Lead Engineer if data is out of standard.
As part of a team to support testing operations due to testing technician absence or any other reason, as needed.
Manage third party testing, contracts, pricing, internal approval processes, invoicing and provide timely updates as required on behalf of R&D department engineers and TTR engineers.
Develop strong relationships third-party testing vendors. Evaluate new third-party testing vendors.
Develop new testing method with third-party testing vendor, if required.
Develop new indoor testing method, if required.
Ensure testing equipment is in proper working order, when necessary support calibrations, maintenance, and repairs including building equipment.
Monitor and maintain the yearly budget of internal and third-party testing.
Adhere to Company standards and objectives, such as safety, 5S, quality, and continuous improvement.
Conduct and maintain the yearly continuous improvement efforts.
Develop and maintain SOPs for testing operations.
Strict adherence to all internal compliance standards and compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
Effectively communicate with peers, team members, customers, suppliers, and technical staff.
Maintain good housekeeping practice.
Other duties may be assigned.

Understand job tools, equipment, and abilities necessary to complete testing assignments.

Must have proficient PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
Ability to work in a safe manner and follow all Toyo quality and safety standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution in mechanical engineering or equivalent. 2 years of experience tire testing experience preferred.
