We are an active acquirer of DFMs and IFA’s in the UK, following an aggressive growth trajectory, having trebled in size from the initial acquisition of “GPP” under two years ago. Our strategy sees strong organic growth within the near term coupled with significantly larger acquisitions. We currently manage ten entities attracting taxation, mostly UK-orientated with exposure to Jersey and South Africa.
The role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior Azure Cloud Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a very strong background in Azure Cloud, M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, cybersecurity, and project management. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. You will also be responsible for leading and executing tenant-to-tenant migration projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.
The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of Azure Cloud services, M365 applications, cybersecurity principles, project management methodologies and be an excellent communicator.
Job responsibilities- Innovate, design, optimise and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using Azure Cloud services.
- Lead and execute M365 tenant-to-tenant migration projects, ensuring seamless data migration, user provisioning and application integration.
- Part of the oversight team responsible for groupwide Infrastructure SLAs, policies, procedures, standards, compliance and business continuity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and create project plans for infrastructure initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise in Azure Cloud, M365 applications, and cybersecurity best practices to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Conduct architectural reviews, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the security and compliance of cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
- Perform system performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization activities to ensure efficient utilization of cloud resources.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to cloud infrastructure, tenant-to-tenant migrations, cybersecurity.
- Manage and coordinate multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting stakeholders' expectations.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and services into the existing infrastructure ecosystem.
- Document architecture designs, deployment procedures, and configuration guides to ensure effective knowledge transfer and supportability.
- Sometimes, you may need to provide 2nd and 3rd line support and provide guidance to other team members.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, PMP) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Cloud Specialist, focusing on Azure Cloud, M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, cybersecurity and driving projects through to completion.
- Significant experience of network security products and countermeasure techniques, including firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), encryption, authentication techniques, server virtualisation, SDN and WAN (SD-WAN).
- Expert in TCP/IP routing protocols, common network services, including DNS, DHCP, NTP and load-balancing techniques, including VLANs and QoS.
- Knowledge of IP telephony and Unified Communications; Azure cloud telephony services.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure AD, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for cloud, endpoint management etc.
- Strong expertise in M365 applications, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams admin center and OneDrive for Business.
- Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including identity and access management, data protection, network security, and threat detection.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to lead and deliver complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, or similar languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git) is an advantage.
