Civil Engineering Technician - Highway Design

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician - Highway Design (0 - 3 Years Experience) to join our growing team!


Our employee-owned team of multi-disciplined engineering and design professionals is looking for a CAD Designer / Civil Engineering Technician who is excited to support the design of various transportation projects.

 

As a member of our team, you will work alongside other professionals to develop designs for highways, interchanges, roundabouts, and other roadway features in coordination with a multi-discipline team that also includes Traffic, Utility, and Water Resource Engineering.

Hybrid Work Environment: Civil Engineering Technicians are encouraged to work in-office 4 days a week while getting started. Once comfortable and successfully managing week to week expectations, enjoy a flexible 3/2 hybrid model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) to balance work and life.


Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree or Certification in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Previous experience or formal training CAD design/drafting (using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ORD).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to participate in project team meetings and interact directly with technical professionals and clients on a frequent basis.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, etc.).


Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, quantity takeoffs, and related engineering practices. 
  • Previous coursework or project assignments with an emphasis on roadway / highway design.
  • Experience in the development of project deliverables including geometric layouts, design plans, and/or the generation and use of 3-dimensional design models.
  • Knowledge of MnDOT standards and specifications.


$55,000 - $65,000 a year
The listed salary range reflects base pay for candidates with 0-3 years of related experience. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.
