This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment; Connection Systems business unit located in Brookhaven, MS.
Summary (About this Position):
The Aptiv Connection Systems team has an exciting opportunity for a Training & Safety Supervisor at our manufacturing facility located in Brookhaven, MS . The successful candidate will lead the training program and will be responsible for planning, directing and managing all environmental, safety and manufacturing training programs for the Brookhaven Facility. The Training & Safety Supervisor will also support safety initiatives and programs throughout the plant by leveraging others as well as completing tasks firsthand.
Your Role (i.e. Key Job Responsibilities) :
Training
Supervise and develop three Special Assignment (SA) Trainers
Oversee Manufacturing Supervisors and SA Trainers to implement crew training program and crew trainers
Drive training initiatives through observation, audits and cross-training of employees
Assess and improve current training systems (orientation, regulatory, manufacturing, etc.)
Develop and implement training programs for new and existing employees
Ensure training is in compliance with state, federal, local and company EH&S regulations
Define comprehensive regulatory and site policy training matrix
Implement a learning management system to track and manage training requirements
Ensure training records are managed per the records management system requirements
Deliver powered industrial truck training, test proficiency, and issue/track operating licenses
Certify additional powered industrial truck crew trainers
Participates in Lean 2.0 implementation and improvement efforts as needed
Safety
Conduct risk assessments and assist in providing solutions to minimize risk
Complete and submit required EH&S reports (internal)
Track and report on all OSHA recordable incidents, first-aids and near misses
Support audits and investigations; help implement corrective actions
Educate supervisors and employees on safety standards and expectations
Support and help facilitate safety activities (training, campaigns, drills, etc.)
Ensure all annual reviews are completed
Participate in and engage employees proactively during safety observation tours
Perform routine tasks required to administer occupational safety and health matters

Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves):
2+ years related EHS experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment
Normally day shift, but must be able to flex shift as needed to provide shift communication as needed
Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, state and federal health and safety regulation
Solid analytical skills, problem solving, strong presence, and the ability to communicate effectively
Your Preferred Qualifications (i.e. Nice to Haves):
Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience (5+ years of supervisory experience)
Experience implementing and/or using a learning management system
Automotive or light assembly manufacturing experience
Warehouse background with knowledge of shipping and receiving is desired
OSHA 30 Hour Certification
Powered Industrial Truck Trainer Certification
Experience implementing or working with the ISO 45001 standard
