Training Manager, Field Application & Operations - Remote

The Training Manager for Field Applications & Operations will be responsible for the development, delivery, and execution of business application trainings for our Innovative Medicine (IM) Customer Engagement (CE) field teams. This individual ensures cross-functional input is integrated by collaborating with key stakeholders (Field Effectiveness, Sales, Marketing, Operations) to ensure there is alignment in the delivery of training curriculum. Collaborates with other training functions (i.e., Customer Engagement Skills, Leadership Excellence, PSS/Managed Markets and Technology & Operations) to ensure all customer facing associates are trained compliantly and effectively.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for supporting the new-hire application training for all field teams aligned with annual On-boarding calendar
  • Ensure insights are captured from all Customer facing teams and infused into training curriculum
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate training workshops as required for new hire training classes, system and platform enhancements, and product launches
  • Use technology platforms to deliver training
  • Assist in creating a measurement strategy and sustainability process to determine the effectiveness of programs/initiatives
  • Ensure all materials are approved and compliant consistent with Novartis policies
  • Manage logistical coordination of training classes and schedules
  • Manage training vendors supporting the development and facilitation of technology training
  • Develop and maintains ownership of KPI tracking/reporting progress on the Product curriculum in collaboration with Technology & Operations team
  • Ensure customer facing associates maintain annual product certification of RLT products in collaboration with CE operations



This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.

Minimum requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience
  • Experience conducting Pharma sales training
  • 1-2 years pharma sales experience
  • Brand strategy, tactics understanding combined with strong clinical & therapeutic knowledge
  • Strong overall sales acumen and business experience.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, listening, and facilitation, planning, team building and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations, and ability to persuade / influence organization pursuit of recommended path
  • Team player capable of working in large cross functional teams (such as build relationships with sales and marketing organization at all levels)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $124,000 and $186,000 year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
