To perform complex clerical duties requiring independent judgment relating to the storage, retrieval and maintenance of medical records. Performs clerical work requiring application of various work methods and procedures and familiarity with Medical Record Department functions, policies, and practices. Is responsible for providing service to the patients/customers of the Hospital Center. Is acquainted of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Medical Record Department and the Hospital Center.
Core Responsibilities:
· Travel to Medical facilities or Provider offices in specified areas to Retrieve medical records for all requestor and prints necessary documents from appropriate medical record systems in compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations
· Communicate effectively and professionally with different provider offices - business attire is required for all appointments
· Accurately and efficiently manage paper medical records or an EMR/EHR platform to retrieve information
· Scan relevant components of the medical record to support reviews performed
· Perform photocopying of complete medical records and medical record abstracts for requester
· Maintain established hospital/departmental/unit policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
· Provide daily productivity and statistical information to supervisor/manager.
· Perform quality control verification for departmental processes and systems.
· Upload extracted medical records per assignment
· Maintain quality and production standards required in accordance with company policy
· Comply with HIPAA laws and regulations
Requirements:
· High School graduation or equivalent
· Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
· Current automobile insurance
· Willingness to travel to medical facilities. Mileage reimbursement will be provided
· Internet access at home
· Availability between 8AM - 5PM at least four consecutive days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
· Hands-on experience with electronic (EMR/EHR) and paper medical records or charts
· Basic to Intermediate computer skills – ability to scan documents, save files, rename files, create folders, and upload to secure servers
Compensation:
· Advantmed pays $22 to $25 hourly for the time you spend retrieving charts or $1.75 per patient chart retrieved* (whichever is the highest)

· Paid $50 (daily) Food Allowance, when traveling out of state
· Reimbursement for some travel expenses (Toll , Parking)
· Paid Flight + Hotel + Rental (if required – when traveling for business purpose)
· Additional driving hours’ benefits (If driving more than 2 hours one way)
*This position is seasonal, part to full time, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.
