Junior Analytics Engineer

Two Circles is a global sports agency, connecting fans with sport properties using data. We work with some of the world’s biggest sports organisations – including the NFL, Premier League, Formula 1, Wimbledon and UEFA – and have four times been named Sport Industry Agency of the Year. 

We have a team of over 950 Two Circlers working from 14 cities across APAC, North America, and EMEA, serving our expanding international client base. 

KORE Planning and Insights Team consults with clients on a variety of business intelligence, strategy, and reporting initiatives.  While understanding Enterprise Clients business objects, this team member will work with the clients to offer the best solutions and accomplish their technical goals.  This role will report to the Consultant, Enterprise Data & Analytics and be responsible for collaborating with other members of the KPI team.

This role will mainly assist in SQL script writing, creating and monitoring automated processes, optimizing databases, and ETL processing.

The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, a solutions-provider, detail-oriented, data-focused, and have a strong ability to work well in a team-based setting.  This role will also ask the candidate to collaborate both with internal and external teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will devote their time writing custom scripts to power standardized views, automations, and data warehousing.  Although we expect this role to expand as skills and experience grow, the following is an estimated breakdown of where we expect this individual’s time to be allocated in main categories of tasks:

ETL Processing

·       Assist in development and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies

·       Design, development, and modify relational database structures, relationship, and data flows within the data warehouse

·       Understand and maintain DAGs to manage workflows

·       Working with stakeholders to support their data infrastructure

·       Integration data from different sources to create a unified view of the data

·       Implement data quality checks and validation routines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data

·       Support in the development of machine learning models by combining data from multiple data sources

SQL Script Writing

·       Build and standardize optimized SQL scripts

·       Proactively monitor performance of automations and integrations

·       Develop SQL scripts to be used in automations for CRM, Email Marketing, and other integrations

·       Investigate data discrepancies and troubleshoot client queries

·       Help maintain the quality of data used in day-to-day analysis or scripts

·       Maintain documentation on processes developed

Communication & Consultation

·       Communicating via phone, email, face-to-face and virtual meetings with customers

·       Analyze and define tasks, data flows, and dependencies in relation to project deliverables

·       Work cross-departmentally to continue to develop KORE’s reporting products

Skill Requirements

·       Proven command of SQL and relational databases

·       Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python

·       Understanding of data warehouse and ETL tools like Amazon Redshift

·       Familiarity with cloud computing tools such as AWS and Azure

·       Experience in automation and scripting

·       Familiarity with basic data visualizations in Excel, Tableau, or PowerBI

·       Strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills

·       Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills – must be able to communicate completes ideas to both technical and non-technical individuals

·       Familiarity of database marketing and the sports industry

·       Ability to communicate professionally in both a written and verbal context with external end-users and internal colleagues

·       Attention to detail, ability to work with deadlines, and ability to coordinate across multiple departments
