The UCLA Administration Marketing & Communications (AMC) team creates integrated and innovative assets and campaigns to effectively promote UCLA Administration's services to the university community, from transportation to housing and hospitality, the police department to campus maintenance, among many other business services.
Under the direction of the Art Director and guidance from the Creative Director, the Senior Graphic Designer conceptualizes, creates, and develops a wide variety of marketing and communication materials (print and digital) for AMC's clients.
As a member of AMC's Marketing team, the Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for creating branding/logos, campaign key art, posters, signage, print ads, promotional item artwork, annual reports, and other printed collateral. The position will also create digital artwork for social media and websites, infographics and shoot and edit photo and video content. The incumbent ensures stylistic consistency and cohesion of all materials in print, digital and multimedia formats; ensures graphic consistency and adherence to UCLA brand guidelines; and maintains creative quality control through editing and approval process.
On all projects, the Senior Graphic Designer performs and manages creative functions (graphic design, photography, videography), production functions (producing materials in-house using Adobe software, preparing asset files for print production) and supports the Marketing Project Manager in working with vendors (commercial printers, photographers, graphic designers, and consultants) to evaluate and secure estimates and services as needed. The Senior Graphic Designer supports the Art Director and Marketing Project Manager in the management and monitoring of projects from creative conceptualization through production, and printing.
The Senior Graphic Designer collaborates with AMC team members including project managers, copywriters, and communications analysts throughout each project life cycle. The position will also regularly interface with and present design work to Administration clients and AMC leadership.

Required/Preferred
5+ years of creative work and knowledge of graphic design principles for print, digital, and video
Required
Artistic ability to design themed print collateral and digital content that effectively communicates to the campus community.

Working knowledge of printing and production processes
Required
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects)
Required
Ability to create engaging digital content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube).

Ability to shoot photography (DSLR) and conduct photo shoots

Working knowledge of video production, including shooting and editing footage using Adobe Premiere

Demonstrated ability to analyze information, practices, policies, and procedures and to identify and apply effective creative solutions

Skills collaborating with an integrated marketing team (mix of art directors, graphic designers, writers, project managers, etc.). Strong interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively one-on-one and in group situations, and to build cooperative effective relationships with teammates and clients
