The Human Resources Coordinator at Umpqua Health is a key player in driving our HR initiatives forward, providing essential support across a range of HR functions. You'll dive into employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and compliance efforts, ensuring our HR programs and policies not only run smoothly but also align with our organizational goals. As an integral part of the HR team, you'll help shape a positive and engaging employee experience, making an impact on everything from onboarding to ongoing employee development.
Your Impact- Support the recruitment and selection process by posting job openings on various platforms, conducting initial resume screenings, scheduling interviews, and coordinating pre-employment tasks. Assist in facilitating a smooth onboarding experience by preparing orientation materials and guiding new hires through the onboarding process.
- Provide detailed information and basic guidance to employees and managers regarding company HR policies, procedures, and benefits programs, ensuring a consistent understanding of HR practices across the organization.
- Assist with employee relations efforts by responding to employee inquiries on various HR-related matters, addressing minor employee concerns, and escalating more complex issues to senior HR staff when necessary.
- Help administer employee benefits programs by supporting annual open enrollment activities, answering questions about benefit plans, processing benefits-related paperwork, and liaising with external vendors for routine benefits administration.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements. This includes updating personnel files, monitoring changes in employment status, and ensuring that confidential information is securely stored.
- Contribute to HR compliance efforts by assisting with internal audits, tracking compliance-related tasks, and ensuring that HR practices align with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Participate in the execution of HR programs, including the annual performance review process, employee engagement initiatives, and employee training sessions, to support the overall development and satisfaction of the workforce.
- Actively support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives by assisting with the planning and coordination of DEI events, employee training, and outreach activities aimed at promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Prepare basic HR reports and perform data analysis to identify patterns and trends in employee data, providing insights that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Collaborate with other members of the HR team on various projects to enhance HR operations and drive organizational success, contributing ideas for process improvements and assisting with the implementation of new HR initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Your Credentials- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in an HR role, providing foundational knowledge of HR operations.
- Understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices in human resources management, with a willingness to continue developing this knowledge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels, handle sensitive information with confidentiality, and convey HR information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using HRIS systems preferred, and a willingness to learn new HR technologies.
- HR certification (e.g., aPHR, PHR) is a plus but not required; interest in pursuing HR certification is encouraged.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing HR needs.
- Experience in healthcare or a related industry is a plus, with an understanding of the unique HR challenges in such environments.
$60,000 - $70,000 a year
