The Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) focus is to provide engineering, technical and programmatic support to the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems, Above Water Sensors (PEO IWS 2.0) Directorate. Efforts include overarching program management, test and evaluation, systems engineering, operations analysis, systems integration, international, cyber security, IT network and programmatic support for over 25 PEO IWS 2.0 advanced radar, phased array radar, electronic warfare, electro-optic, advanced off-board electronic warfare/decoy and directed energy programs.

 

SPA is seeking an Action Officer to work in our downtown Washington, D.C. office located at 20 M Street, SE. Hybrid work is allowed and you must have the ability to work at least 2-3 days per week in the office on average.   #MC

Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Action Officer to provide support to the Technical Director within the U.S. Navy Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), Above Water Sensors and Lasers Directorate (IWS 2.0).  We expect to fill this position immediately!

 

You will provide technical and programmatic support to the Systems Engineering Working Group Leads (e.g. Platform and Combat System Integration, Hardware and Manufacturing, Software, Requirements, Performance). You will provide technical rigor in support of Systems Engineering (SE) processes, including planning, execution and closure of System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR), technical writing, requirements management, risk management, configuration management, and technical artifact reviews. You will join a high performing team and be expected to develop a strong understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering and DoD, Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command and PEO IWS instructions and processes (e.g., DoD 5000).

 

We don’t expect you to come in with any expertise but we do expect you to consistently demonstrate strong attributes to quickly build competencies and provide the highest quality products and services to the Technical Director. A hybrid work environment is allowed, but you must have the ability to regularly work on-site in DC.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  Washington, DC Pay Transparency Range:  $110,000 – $130,000.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM
  • 4+ years of relevant experience, including prior active duty Navy experience
  • Demonstrated experience or education in modern software delivery methods
  • Current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired

  • Experience with the US Navy or prior SPA internship experience
  • Familiarity with the DoD Acquisition process
