Unified Communications Engineer in Austin

We're looking for an Unified Communications Engineer candidate with experience in Unified Communications, Networks and Windows, to join our team in Austin, TX (onsite/hybrid).

You will report to the Senior Manager, IT Operations.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex Unified Communications systems and networks that meet the needs of our organization.

Technology You'll Use

Unified Communications systems, including Microsoft Teams Voice, Zoom VOIP phone services, Cisco Voice gateways and Session Border Controller (SBCs).

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

  • Design, configure, implement, and support Unified Communications systems, including Microsoft Teams Voice, Zoom VOIP phone services, Cisco Voice gateways and Session Border Controller (SBCs).
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure a seamless integration of Unified Communications systems with other enterprise technologies.
  • Provide advanced technical support for Unified Communications systems, including troubleshooting, identifying and resolving technical issues, and documenting solutions
  • Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of Unified Communications systems and networks
  • Monitor network traffic and performance to ensure optimal system performance and uptime
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards for Unified Communications systems and networks
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Unified Communications systems and networks

What We'd Like to See

  • Microsoft Teams Voice, Zoom VOIP phone services, Cisco Voice gateways and Session Border Controller (SBCs).
  • Experience working with APIs and Power BI is desirable

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Unified Communications systems and networks, including Microsoft Teams Voice, Zoom, Cisco Voice gateways, Cisco Call Manager, and Session Border Controller (SBCs)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SIP, VoIP, MPLS, AVoIP, and related protocols
  • Knowledge of Windows server platforms, Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, Intune, and other Microsoft server-family products
  • Solid foundational knowledge of network protocols, network routing, and IP subnetting
  • Experience working with APIs and Power BI is desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with globally distributed teams and across timezones
