The Institute provides these engineering solutions in alignment with its core competencies: Autonomous Systems; Human Performance Enhancement; Data Analytics; Cyber and Electromagnetic Domain Security; and Transportation and Energy infrastructure.POSITION SUMMARY:The IAE Direct Support Engineer II will provide direct Software Engineer support for US Special Operations Command Unmanned Systems (UxSAI) customers at MacDill AFB. The UxSAI engineer will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and sustainment of collaborative autonomous software systems and the implementation of software technical standards and processes to ensure cross platform interoperability. This engineer will collaborate with teams of engineers to gather requirement, evaluate technical approaches, perform tradeoff analysis, design, build, and test software systems and products. This position will be the matter expert (SME) in software engineering and advise the customer leadership on technologies and best practices in the software engineering domain.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance. Experience designing and developing complex software systems for collaborative autonomous systems.RESPONSIBILITIES:Supporting the UxSAI Chief Engineer to ensure collaborative autonomy software meets stakeholder functional and quality attribute requirements, use cases, and workflows for autonomous systems and collaborative autonomy.Document complex software systems architectures and detailed designs. Evaluates and assess software systems designs to identify gaps, problems, and issues impacting the execution of collaborative autonomous system missions.Advise leadership on software engineering processes, best practices, standards, and technologies to ensure proper function and enable seamless interoperability between systems and componentsEvaluate commercial and open-source software technologies and frameworks for use in autonomous systems design, development, and test.Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design and develop distributed autonomous software systems spanning heterogeneous subsystems and platforms across land, air, and maritime environmentsPerforms other duties as assigned.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM:This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical or Biological Sciences (as required by position requirements) and 9 years of relevant experience. Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.PREFERRED:In-depth, hands-on, expertise within one or more engineering discipline(s) (electrical, mechanical, chemical, materials, software, hardware, RF).Experience designing and developing complex, multidisciplinary systems and systems components.Experience designing and developing systems for key quality attribute requirements such as: performance, availability, modifiability, security, testability, usability, scalability, portability, interoperability, maintainability, integrity, reliability, and safety.Experience with the full systems development lifecycles and with various development process frameworks (waterfall, system-V, agile).Experience with instantiating, measuring, and evaluating engineering processes for efficiency and identifying opportunities for improvement.Experience with planning and coordinating complex, multidisciplinary systems, research and development efforts within an engineering team.Experience with technical team leadership; mentoring junior engineers.Experience evaluating and quantifying engineering alternatives and tradeoffs (technical, economic, schedule) in complex engineering projects.Hands-on experience with various engineering tools commensurate with their engineering discipline expertise (MATLAB, Jira, compilers, RF analysis, simulation, documentation tools)USF TampaInformation for ApplicantsThis position is subject to a Level 1 criminal background check.Job Opening Number: 37574Posting Date: 08/02/2024Posting End Date: 08/23/2024How To ApplyClick on the Apply Now button.
