Join us!Responsibilities: Performs administrative and customerservice support in an office setting within a healthcare facilityor clinic to provide quality customer service to all patients andstaff and ensure smooth administrative operations.• 15% Provides day-to-day operational support to medical workunit personnel• 5% Prepares documents for patient admissions andappointments• 40% Serves as front desk staff within a healthcare facility orclinic• 10% Greets patients, schedules appointments, maintainscalendars, schedules tests, and makes referrals according toinstructions• 10% Receives, submits, and responds to inquiries according toestablished policies and procedures• 5% Provides operational phone support within an emergencymedical facility• 5% Serves as a cashier, collecting and accurately recording allcash/credit transactions associated with a veterinary healthcarefacility• 5% Provides support to the billing functions of UWVC• 5% Maintains appearance and cleanliness of the reception andclient waiting areas of the hospitalTasks:• Be a positive, friendly, and reliable team player• Answer telephone calls and following all established hospitalprotocols for clients and referring veterinarians regardingappointments, billing concerns, and emergency triaging.• Cancels appointments, as needed and communicates with theappropriate service to ensure patient and service coordination ofreschedules. Schedule follow-up rehab, ferrier, and emergencyvisits as required by established hospital protocols• Perform billing duties including processing client payments,review of daily invoices to check for appropriateness of fees, makebilling and package adjustments per hospital protocols.• Use the hospital's internal messaging system (Vocera) perestablished protocols to inform appropriate stakeholders of patientarrival. Triage and differentiate method of messaging (Vocera vs.Message Board or urgent vs. not urgent)• Verify accuracy of client/patient information, updating asneccessary, including client's full legal name, address, phonenumbers, email, referring veteranarian (rDVM), birth date,etc.• Provide exceptional customer service to UWVC clients, staff,and clinicians• Participate in rotating on-call shifts as needed, includingholidays and weekends• Other duties as assignedInstitutional Statement on Diversity:Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation forUW-Madison.
