Bookkeeping position available at an online bookkeeping firm serving small businesses. Jeff, the owner, is based in Eugene, Oregon and San Francisco, California. Employee will begin as a bookkeeper for a few months, and has the potential to move into a Reviewer/Manager role (see description below in About Us). Bookkeeper is responsible for entering data from bank and credit card statements. Tasks include recording: interest/principal payments from loan schedules, detailed payroll reports, proper expense coding, and matching payments to invoices. Position requires good writing skills to correspond with the staff and clients, financial accounting knowledge, basic knowledge of tax preparation, and in depth knowledge of Quickbooks Online.
Requirements:
-Minimum 5 years experience with Quickbooks Online with in-depth understanding of entering Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Undeposited Funds within Quickbooks Online.
-Moderate/advanced experience with Excel
-Fundamentals of financial accounting Ex. debits, credits, ability to read and understand financial statements.
-Basic knowledge of tax return preparation. We don’t prepare taxes, but it is important to know the fundamentals when coding the bookkeeping transactions.
-Must be based in the United States
-CPA or licensed tax preparer is preferred

Time:
Part time, approximately 10 hours/week with potential for up to 20 hours/week. Seeking a part time, long-term relationship.
About Us:
Outsourced bookkeeping business. We help small businesses (1 to 10 employees) reconcile their business accounts on a monthly basis. We assign 2 staff members to each client: a Preparer and Manager. Once the statements are ready to be reconciled, the Preparer reconciles the previous month within 3 business days. Then the Manager has 3 business days to complete the manager review and correspond with the client, along with other daily business tasks.
