Consumer Insights Manager I (Hybrid)

About This Role

The Consumer Insights Manager I will provide unbiased analytical research and strategies to support the company's vision of creating a customer-centric culture. This includes understanding the attitudes and drivers of UScellular customers and synthesizing consumer research findings into actionable insights. Is responsible for performing a wide variety of analytical and statistical analyses to address and solve research questions and business problems. Is responsible for working with business and marketing partners, which include Marketing (product, brand, retail, web pricing/promo and customer strategy), Sales Operations, Engineering, Customer Experience, and other functional areas of UScellular to understand the goals and objectives to be able to create and deliver a research strategic plan. This position leverages a strong command of research acumen, cross functional collaboration, presentation capabilities, critical thinking skills and project management skills.

  • Review vendor work for insights gathering, including questionnaire development and data collection, as well as reporting and presentation of findings.
  • As an independent contributor, field original studies and analyze results to answer common business questions.
  • Create comprehensive analyses, leveraging vendor insights as well as internal analytics and market intelligence, to inform stakeholders on consumer perceptions via actionable insights.
  • Present findings and implications to internal stakeholders including senior leadership .
  • Leverage a strong command of research acumen and business knowledge to illuminate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Drive project plans and schedules to deliver projects on time.
  • Manage vendors to deliver high quality work, negotiate cost and manage budget for each project.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and internal analytics to develop insights frameworks that are tailored to business needs.
  • Develops timely, innovative, and objective analysis which leads to fact-based solutions for strategic business issues. Assists in the development of the problem definition and hypothesis formulation process as it relates to the specific business environment.
  • Provides consulting services related to study design, data analysis, and reporting. Presents insights and findings on major projects to senior management. Effectively communicates the logic of the analytical process.
  • Develops recommendations for effective strategies and tactics to drive performance towards established company goals.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years' work experience in Consumer Insights project development and management.
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary consumer research methodologies.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to develop and lead custom research projects independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications abilities, with experience interacting with and presenting to all levels of leaders, conveying a confident command of research, business and insight knowledge.
  • Proven ability to translate research results into business implications and gain organizational alignment to recommendations; negotiation and influence skills and abilities.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A strong command of research acumen, strong presentation capabilities, well developed critical thinking skills and strong project management skills.
  • Experience analyzing, synthesizing information (internal resources, external resources) , and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions into the 'big picture' to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience in collaborating with internal resources, external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines
  • Adapt at prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Skillful with consulting services related to study design, data analysis, and reporting. Presents insights and findings on projects to senior management. Effectively communicates the logic of the analytical process and actionable business insights.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vendor experience
  • Client side experience
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical concepts and data mining techniques such as: logistic and linear regression, CHAID segmentation, Bayesian methods, optimization, and time-series analysis.
  • Knowledge of the link between analysis and business impact, etc.
  • Telecom/wireless industry experience a plus.

Salary rang $74,800-$112,934
