Utility Scale Development Assistant

The Utility-scale Development team at RWE Clean Energy is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility-scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects in the US and Canada. The Central Development group focuses on PJM West, MISO North and SPP North markets. The Development Support Associate will play a key role in supporting the development activities on real estate matters and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development items, such as tracking routine project tasks, obtaining site addresses, drafting correspondence with landowners, landowner property description uploads, etc.
• Support the Title process, research tax and GIS sites, retrieve deeds from county database and verify text (e.g. acreage, legal description, special lease provisions,…).
• Communicate with contracted parties (land agents, title companies) to retrieve necessary supporting documents from landowners.
• Work as a liaison between legal and development to facilitate the easement drafting process.
• Manage landowner information between databases and maintain landowner files.
• Assist in contract execution by gathering information, completing inputs in contract templates, circulating documents for internal approvals, collecting signatures, and tracking hard copies.
• Coordinate internal process improvement initiatives
• Support external/internal communications and events
• Other projects/activities as assigned by project developers

Qualifications

• College degree in relevant fields (business, accounting, law, project management, environmental services, regulatory affairs, communications, and other).
• No specific renewable energy knowledge is required, but candidate should have an interest in the energy industry and/or the land development process.
• Understanding of basic legal terminology and ability to read through legal documents (Deeds, Trust documents, Wills, etc)
• Skilled with Microsoft Office and eager to learn new tools.
• Self-motivated and very organized.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and work ethic.
