Apple Intelligence and Google Gemini are about to onboard 4 billion people to voice assistants that actually talk like people. This marks a new beginning for voice as the world’s default interface. We will all want voice everywhere. Businesses are not ready. Products are not ready.

We launched in March, scaled revenue, and raised a Series A from a top-tier firm this past week. We’re a small team of 12 and growing. We're building out the founding team in-person in SF to scale what’s working.

Mission

As our Founding Designer & UX Visionary, you'll be the creative force behind our brand and product. This isn't just a design role; it's an opportunity to craft the very essence of how users will interact with AI through voice. You'll be instrumental in developing a design language that makes complex voice AI technology accessible and engaging for developers and end-users alike.

What You'll Shape

• Innovative Voice Experiences: Push the boundaries of Voice User Interface (VUI) design so developers can consistently create interactions that feel magical yet familiar.

• Brand Evolution: Develop a dynamic brand identity that evolves with our product and resonates with our forward-thinking audience.

• User-Centric Design Process: Champion a design thinking approach that puts our users and end users at the heart of every decision.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge the gap between design, engineering, and product, ensuring seamless integration of form and function.

• Design System Architecture: Build a scalable design system that will grow with our product and team.

• Usability Research: Lead user testing initiatives to continuously refine and improve our product experience.

• Design Culture: Set the tone for design excellence within the company, mentoring future team members and evangelizing the importance of great design.

Competencies

• Voice User Interface Design: Proven expertise in designing intuitive and engaging Voice User Interfaces (VUIs) that enhance user interaction with AI technologies.

• User-Centric Approach: Strong ability to apply design thinking methodologies, ensuring that user needs and preferences are central to the design process.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration between design, engineering, and product teams, ensuring alignment on project goals.

• Prototyping and Tools Proficiency: Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with the capability to create prototypes for voice interactions.

• Research and Usability Testing: Experience in conducting usability research and user testing to gather insights and iteratively improve product experiences.

• Adaptability and Growth Mindset: Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment, embracing change and demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, specifically focusing on voice user interfaces or conversational AI platforms.

• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to simplify complex interactions and design engaging voice experiences.

• Technical Understanding: Familiarity with AI concepts, natural language processing, and best practices for voice interface design.

• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for articulating design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Educational Background: A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field is preferred; however, relevant experience and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences are highly valued.
