Job description

We are looking for a Data Analyst in Computer Vision domain to join our Reality Experience Team to contribute into development of the tracking algorithms (gaze, pose, controllers, markers) and related software features in the Varjo mixed reality products. You understand that the qualitative and relevant data as well as the data insights are crucial in driving development of the complex algorithmic pipelines which rely on machine learning. You know from your background that the well thought out and user experience relevant KPI metrics are essential to analyze the performance of the computer vision algorithms, while the supported variation in the algorithm’s inputs extends the variation and volume requirements to the training and testing data sets. You are fluent in Python when writing scripts for processing data series and visualizing the insights. You’re familiar with common code source control arrangement, code review processes as well as continuous integration practices. You are setting high quality standards in your daily work aiming to deliver best user experience with the software features you’re contributing to.

What you'll be doing

  • Processing, analyzing and visualizing various computer vision data in different tracking domains (gaze, pose, controllers, markers) to gain the insights needed to drive our tracking algorithms development further
  • Collaborating with the software engineers and algorithm researchers developing our tracking features
  • Contributing to the tracking KPI systems by improving existing and developing, automating new performance metrics and visualizations in collaboration with the algorithm developers
  • Coordinate data collections and data labeling rounds

Our expectations

  • Data analytics and software engineering background with 3+ years of expertise in Python programming and you are familiar with the following libraries: numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scipy
  • Knowledge of math statistics and experience in statistical analysis of time series
  • Data visualization skills
  • Knowledge of basic algorithms and data structures, understanding algorithm complexity (Big O)
  • Daily work experience with source control and continuous integration systems (Git, Jenkins)
  • Team player, ability to perform in cross-functional teams under agile process
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work from our Helsinki HQ 4 times a week
  • Willingness and desire to continuously learn and improve in the computer vision domain

A big plus

  • Experience in automation of the data processing and visualization pipelines (Jenkins, Grafana)
  • Knowledge of C++
  • Experience with image processing and machine learning
