Are you passionate about energy, technology and growth?
Flexcity, a leading European energy tech company, is looking for a  Battery Expert to join our Product team.  This position offers the opportunity to join the Flexcity Product team, alongside the Battery Asset Lead and skilled colleagues from different backgrounds at the company headquarters in Brussels.

 

Batteries are booming, driven by both the increased volatility of energy prices and the decrease in battery prices. Yet the battery market still needs to mature, and developers are still looking for the optimal partner to help them close financing of the battery and generate the most revenues with the batteries. In this context, Flexcity is building out a significant portfolio of batteries throughout Europe that it operates and optimises.
 

We are convinced Battery technology will be essential in driving this transition and that the optimal operation of the different energy markets by players such as Flexcity will play a key role in their rollout.

 

Job Description

As a Battery Expert, you will focus on this emerging market, where Flexcity aims to be a market leader.
 

Within the Product Team, you will be part of the Battery team. This cross-functional team includes data scientists, software developers, local sales, and local portfolio managers. 

 

This role offers a blend of Product Management and Business Development responsibilities, with the exact balance tailored to our current business needs and your individual strengths. We're open to adjusting the division of work between these two areas to create an optimal fit for both the organization and your preference.

 

Business Development - 40%  

  • Commercial

    • Structure our contract offering to the local markets and regulations

    • Coordinate Pre-sales activity with the in-house expert team

    • Support contract negotiations 

  • Strategic

    • Stay up to date on the optimisation market in assigned countries

    • Build a network in the BESS niche 

    • Stay up to date and understand the latest developments in new flexible products.

  • Regulatory

    •  Stay up to date on regulatory requirements for BESS optimisations
       

Product Management - 60 %

  • Product management

    • Design and optimise flow that operates batteries in assigned country 

    • Coordinate efforts of  Data Scientists and Developers  and translate project requirements to technical specifications

    • Coordinate between clients/commercial teams and internal developers

  • Project management

    • Be end responsible for project implementation of new batteries

    • Coordinate project implementation with local teams 

  • Standardisation and communication

    • Create a packaged offering that local teams can roll out

    • Advocate the build experience internally

  • Fluent in English and French or Dutch, trilingual being a strong plus
