The Vice President of Supply Chain will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to the Company’s supply chain function. This role will provide leadership and to the following areas: warehousing, distribution, logistics, inventory control, transportation, procurement, and vendor management.
The initial focus and greatest change opportunity would be in procurement and warehousing. As a result of Crumbl’s growth the procurement, sourcing and warehousing functions must be rationalized and upgraded. The VP of Supply Chain will develop immediate and long-term strategies and actionable steps to improve operational performance, while ensuring best purchasing value and competitive advantage through the global purchasing of ingredients as well as optimization of our packaging to better suit the needs of our stores and Franchise partners.
The VP of Supply Chain will assess the company’s Sysco operational performance and will develop standard operating procedures and KPIs to enhance the performance of the business, our vendor/distributor and warehouses to instill a culture of data-driven operations and decision making. The VP of Supply Chain will be responsible for reporting operational performance and explanations of such performance to both the Executive Committee and our Franchise Partner network.
The VP of Supply Chain will be responsible for assisting the Chief Operations Officer in the planning and execution of the company’s various business operations. The role will be involved in the identification, planning and development of the ideal operational footprint to support the company’s current distribution needs, as well as to support future needs fueled by an aggressive growth strategy. The VP of Supply Chain will be responsible for the overall operational leadership and management of multiple distribution projects, low-cost sourcing efforts, and better shipping and efficiency plans. Data-driven analysis and decision making are expected to be at the heart of the VP of Supply Chain’s operating style.
Duties and responsibilities
Drives Operational Excellence and maximizes returns for our Franchise Partners

Lead, manage and develop a sourcing and purchasing team on creating and innovating current initiatives with our suppliers focusing on improving reliability, reducing costs, improving quality, and building efficiencies. Work with the Procurement and Global Sourcing, Product Management, Forecasting and Quality teams to identify and qualify potential new suppliers and pursue continuous improvement activities with current suppliers.

Review current suppliers and develop an initial supplier assessment rating utilizing a scorecard, followed up by a quarterly supplier performance rating using a similar methodology.

Lead the team that manages procurement of all ingredients, packaging, warehousing.
- Responsible for helping lead the teams to improve the company process/system to ensure ingredients and product replenishment including forecasting and demand planning methodologies are maximizing our Franchise Partners return.

Meet or outperform company’s fill rate and lead time requirements while balancing overall inventory costs.

Strategize with the teams and develop purchasing contingency plans to protect against supply chain disruption and ensure consistent availability of goods for our Franchise Partners and customers.

Strategize and implement diverse sourcing strategies using spend portfolio knowledge.

Develop and communicate functional strategy and objectives for sourcing, warehousing and international expansion of Supply Chain needs aligned with Crumbl’s business strategy and operations requirements.

Lead the teams responsible for all activities associated with the development and execution of purchasing, forecasting, global supply, and warehousing. Review major contracts for key areas of spend and create plans to reduce costs within the 6 core items that constitute 80% of our Franchise Partner costs.

Supervise the planning and leading of complex negotiations.

Recommends and supervises the preparation of specific proposals where applicable; supervises the management and influences vendor selection, negotiations, and benchmarking.

Collaborate closely with Finance to ensure all sourcing activities comply with financial controls.

In collaboration with our Procurement and Global Supply Chain director, helps develop best global procurement strategies, that may include product hedging.

Collaborate and help lead the development and implementation of a full suite of data-driven operational metrics and KPIs which will accurately measure performance in a timely fashion and will inspire continuous improvement within the organization.

Improve upon the company’s application and execution of operational tenants in all facets of the business, including warehouse and inventory management, strategic sourcing, and logistics.

Develops and mentors a team of supply chain professionals capable of undertaking the current operational initiatives at hand while scaling the company as it continues to grow, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and the building of an effective team dynamic.

Qualifications

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams, vendors, partnerships, and levels to successfully achieve strategic plans.

Proven supply chain experience within the food industry or equivalent.

5-7 years of leadership experience, building, motivating, and influencing teams.

Must reside in Utah, or with the ability to relocate as necessary.
Working conditions
Working environment is typically working in and around an office environment, with frequent visits to our warehouse or kitchen environments with industrial mixers, ovens, and warmers. This job also requires primarily business management functions, involving desk work.
