Job Description:
Russell Investments is seeking an exceptional individual to work as both Video Producer and Social Media Manager to produce video content and innovative global social media campaigns in the business-to-business (B2B) financial services sector.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000
Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. At Russell Investments, salary is just one part of our compensation package. Our total rewards approach includes an annual performance bonus (subject to eligibility criteria) in addition to participation in our competitive benefits programs including healthcare, retirement, vacation, and wellbeing programs.
Telling stories via video is a crucial component of Russell Investments’ marketing efforts. We’re looking for a highly-skilled, experienced Video Producer with successful experience directing non-actors (including executives), shooting video, recording podcast audio, capturing still photography (primarily headshots) and editing and publishing video, audio and pictures. Motion graphic skills, basic graphic design, experience with live events, project management and script-writing expertise are also highly desirable.
Candidates must also be experienced and creative social strategist with a genuine passion for the topics of investing, markets, and financial security. You should be steeped in all things B2B marketing, including a desire to reach and activate financial advisors and institutional investors in the social space. The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering results on social campaigns, and integrating video, motion graphics and design on social channels (primarily LinkedIn). Candidates must be able to multi-task and prioritize, manage a high-volume of campaigns by being nimble and creative, plus a drive for testing, learning and making insight- and data-driven decisions.

Candidates will work with our existing Video Producer and Social Media Manager and will support ongoing social strategies as well as paid and organic social campaigns that impact clients and prospects globally. You will support our internal social media advocacy program, cultivating social media champions within our associate base. You will work across internal teams including brand, channel marketing, analytics, sales, and PR, and will partner with external media-buying agencies and creative agencies on both video and social. You will collaborate closely with talented and experienced marketing colleagues globally to inform and implement holistic strategies, content and creative. You will support both long-term strategy, pre-planned campaigns and day-to-day editorial decisions. You will manage multiple social campaigns simultaneously, with the ability to streamline for efficiency, while crafting thoughtful strategies to best serve unique audiences. You will work with key social media and digital platforms, focusing primarily on LinkedIn and YouTube. You will also contribute to the development of new product features and tools for social marketing and video production

Success in this role requires excellent B2B customer instincts, an ability to understand and implement social strategy, excellent project management skills, an aptitude for developing insights-driven strategies globally, defining customer-centric campaign goals, a keen eye for compelling and innovative video and social content and a passion for continuous improvement. You will need to possess an entrepreneurial ability to try new and different things with minimal direction while working within an established and successful marketing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Video production:
    • Shooting and directing professional and persuasive videos and podcasts for Russell globally with a wide array of professional video and audio equipment, under the guidance of our video producer. Recording and directing podcasts and videos remotely via a platform like Zencastr. Directing non-actors with varying on-camera comfort and skill levels.
    • Post-production: Editing videos and podcasts using the Adobe Creative Suite, adding text overlays, creating motion graphics, working iteratively with clients/stakeholders, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting quality standards.
    • Managing the function of our video and podcast channels, including optimizing our YouTube channel and podcast distribution efforts through itunes buzzsprout and spotify. Possessing a deep understanding of the necessary gear and technology needed in the production process, while staying current on new trends and technology. Maintaining internal production gear and in-house studio.
    • Producing and managing video projects utilizing external video resources. This includes scheduling, editing storyboards, project management, and vendor management. Assisting and guiding other Russell offices in producing great videos by utilizing both internal and external video resources.
    • Taking headshot photographs of associates, and retouching photos.
  • Social media
    • Under the guidance of our social media manager, support social strategies and campaigns for Russell Investments that are focused on financial advisors and institutional investors, from inception through post-launch/sustain
    • Support and deliver innovative, best-in-class campaigns for clients and prospects
    • Work closely and collaboratively across brand, channel marketing, sales, events and PR to champion social-first ideas and execute globally integrated efforts and campaigns
    • Foster global social conversation and leverage to build vibrant communities
    • Work with both paid and organic efforts to develop fully integrated social campaigns
    • Oversee daily efforts as well as campaign planning and management
    • Work with analytics team to monitor effectiveness of strategy and creative, making recommendations for continuous improvement
    • Build relationships with key in-house social advocates to expand their reach in support of the Russell Investments brand
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three years experience in video production, including project management. High comfort level in using and learning how to use a wide array of professional video and audio equipment. High level of comfort acting as a 1-person video crew.
  • Video editing with Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)
  • Managing a YouTube Channel
  • Managing a Podcast Channel (Buzzsprout, Itunes, stitcher etc.)
  • Still photography with professional DSLR cameras and strobes.
  • Motion graphic production utilizing After Effects
  • 3+ years of marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvement
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B social media marketing, preferably in financial services
  • Experience supporting large-scale social media campaigns across platforms with a track record of growing audiences and delivering on engagement metrics
  • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external agencies
  • Experience building, executing, and scaling social marketing programs
  • Understands best practices and up-to-date design needs/restrictions on LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and other potential channels
