Job Description

Reporting to the US Retirement Director, this role will manage and provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Visa 401k Plan. This role requires deep benefits expertise and a strong focus on reporting, controls and management of the US 401(k) plan and other financial benefits plans. Responsibilities include plan design, governance, financial management, compliance, operational delivery, and cross functional engagement for all assigned programs.
Specific tasks vary, but work will include:

Overall program management:

  • Serves as expert for US and Canada retirement programs. Reviews and analyzes trends and advises leadership on the state of benefits programs, demonstrating an understanding of the market dynamics, key competitor benefit plan design, and industry trends.

  • Develops and maintains the strategic engagement framework for partnerships with Finance, Controllership and Payroll in relation to program interdependencies.

  • Recognizes and addresses countrywide implications of programs and initiatives.

  • Executes the retirement program strategy and approach for financial wellbeing.

  • Responsible for US and Canada retirement program design, RFP planning and negotiations and implementations.

  • Oversee the execution of multiple North America retirement programs simultaneously with accountability for impact analysis of in scope programs and initiatives, and their financial, business, and legal outcomes.

  • Identify areas for program improvement such as simplification of the policy, enhancements and harmonization.

  • Prepare recommendations and share proposals with leadership.

  • Facilitate and work responses to employee escalations, as needed.

  • Prepare presentations, reports, valuations, and quarterly updates, with comprehensive data, insights, and executive level recommendations.

  • Manage and oversee required audits and other compliance activities.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
  • First level university degree or equivalent experience, advanced university degree preferred.
  • Typically, 10 or more years of related experience in compensation, benefits, finance, or human resources.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of benefits experience with focus in US retirement, experience in finance, actuary, human resources, treasury, accounting, or risk management, also a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Basic understanding of capital markets and investments products.
  • Strong Excel, analytical and risk analysis skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills and ability to create presentations for leadership.
  • Enjoy working with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Prefer fast-paced working environment with ability to learn new concepts and techniques quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task, with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various hours in a global environment or to meet deadlines
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Content master in the field of US retirement benefits with a knowledge of total rewards and other functional areas, with multiple areas of specialization.
  • Exceptional financial and business acumen skills, in-depth business and industry knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to US retirement programs, including emerging legislation.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, including goal setting, conflict resolution, performance management, meeting leading, budget planning, problem solving, and evaluation.
  • Excellent project management and process development skills.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and presentation skills, including both written and verbal forms catered to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including competency in financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply management core competencies in working with both internal clients and external partnerships.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and interpret needs into workable programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while staying within the scope and budget of the overall strategy.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 172,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
