The Role:

The Volunteer Coordinator will assist in the management and implementation of the organization's volunteer recruitment, engagement and retention strategies. This position will work closely with wish granting, event, and communications staff to ensure the success and support of our more than 500 volunteers state-wide. Bilingual - Spanish/English Speaking is a HUGE PLUS

Where You Come In:

· Assists in the development and activation of volunteer recruitment strategy statewide.

· Actively recruit volunteers by networking with the local community, businesses, and managing our online presence on various recruitment websites.

· Respond to volunteer inquiries from the public in a timely, professional manner.

· Supports volunteer onboarding process. Ensures completion of an online volunteer profile, interview, background check, relevant training(s) and any other requirements.

· Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Services Team to ensure volunteer records are maintained completely and follow National requirements.

· Work with all departments of Make-A-Wish Arizona to assess and fill volunteer opportunities.

· Support Volunteer Services Department in implementing volunteer engagement/retention plan.

· Communicate with volunteers in a timely, clear manner utilizing digital, phone and print communication.

· Aid Volunteer Services Department in the execution of volunteer recognition strategies.

· Act as a wish ambassador to build relationships with corporations, educational institutions, and community organizations.

· Assist Volunteer Services Department in volunteer program evaluation.

· When available, attend virtual and in-person learning development opportunities.

· Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate.

What we are looking for

· Bachelor's degree preferred.

· Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in volunteer coordination, human resources, community relations/engagement, communications, or special events

· Able to collaborate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

· Have excellent interpersonal communication skills via email, telephone, in-person, and video conferencing.

· Be a confident and capable public speaker.

· Effective networker to build trust within diverse Arizona communities.

· Self-starter with ability to complete tasks/projects with limited direction.

· Work with a diverse community including and not limited to, ethnicity, gender, age, and physical ability.

· Outstanding ability to work with children living with critical illnesses.

· Ability to facilitate adult-learning sessions.

· Provide positive customer experiences to Make-A-Wish constituents.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· A high level of sensitivity when dealing with medical information and emotionally charged scenarios.

· Ability to work evenings and weekends, when needed.

· Able to travel throughout Arizona and the United States, when needed.

· Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English and Spanish required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
