Job Overview/Purpose:

The Cloud Solutions Architect is a hands-on technical leader. They work closely with the VP of Enterprise Architecture and VP of Cloud and Platforms to create an overall technical vision, strategy and roadmap for the use of cloud technologies in North American.

As a hands-on leader, they drive and deliver strategic cloud initiatives. To do so, they are expected to proactively engage product development teams and, as needed, perform all activities related to the design, development, integration and implementation of cloud and hybrid applications.

To guarantee the reliability, security and fitness of cloud applications, the Cloud Solutions Architect will ensure structural and operational standards are created and followed. They will provide guidance and active assistance in the implementation of established cloud architectures and designs.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Makes technical presentations and submits viewpoints to internal stakeholders.

• Recommend how specific cloud technologies, standards and methods are to be used.

• Evangelize/socialize industry-leading practices and help equip the product development teams with the right skills necessary to delivery cloud projects.

• Lead, or otherwise participate in, proof of concept projects, tests, and experiments to determine if the tools, techniques or platforms are a fit.

• Must stay up-to-date on the latest in cloud technologies

• Complete all mandatory training within a timely basis, as instructed.

• Comply with code of conduct & Bank policies/procedures.

• Actively identify incidents outside of established policies & procedures and report to management immediately.

• Familiar with & comply with laws, regulations, and internal policies & procedures that are applicable to required job duties.

• Understand & comply with all RAF & Rabobank anti-money laundering (AML), compliance, and all other applicable laws, including, but not limited to, the completion of all required AML & Sanctions training.

Job Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

• Must have expert knowledge and experience designing cloud solutions.

• Must understand the Cloud Adoption Framework and/or Well-Architected Framework for Azure.

• Understands networking / connectivity infrastructure between on-premises and Azure services.

• Professional experience in Azure administration.

• Knowledge and experience in Web development.

• Competent with Azure DevOps and Git.

• Must have knowledge and experience designing solutions with Azure resources, including: Azure App Services, Azure Networking, Azure Monitoring and Diagnostics, Azure Storage Services, Azure SQL, Azure Identity Services, Azure Integrations Services.

• Competent administering Azure with portal and shell tools.

• Must be able to quickly absorb and effectively use new technology.

• Experience with messaging and integration architectures

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Have a good working knowledge of interpreting numbers to effectively complete an assigned task.

• Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standards may exist and critical thinking is needed for effective resolutions.

Desirable:

• Experience with Azure Cost Manager

• Experience with event-based architecture.

• Understands advanced agile software development practices.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Management Information Systems or Business Administration with emphasis in Information Systems or Computer Science)

• 15+ years of professional technology experience

• 10+ years of professional architecture experience either as an enterprise, solution, application or technical architect.

• 4+ years of professional cloud experience

• 4+ years Microsoft Azure experience

• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification required.

Desirable:

• Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
