About usWe are a small native American-owned business entity that provides environmental remediation, site utility construction, industrial coatings, and non-destructive integrity inspection services.General Statement of Duties:Directs the financial affairs of the company. a well-established environmental remediation and civil construction firm that serves large and small customers throughout North America. This position oversees, and supervises all aspects of accounting activity. Responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, and the maintenance of its fiscal records.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting:• Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets on the company's information system Viewpoint Spectrum.• All General Ledger activities• Responsible for updating and monitoring on a weekly basis the CMR (Cash Management Report) and reviews with the President.• Maintains banking relationships and monitors daily activity.• Reviews Accounts Payables disbursements.• Manages Accounts Receivable and all collections activities.• Produces monthly financial statements and reviews them with the Management Team.• Manages Accounting Department• Payroll and HR Supervisor• Accounts Payable• Updates and maintains the following;• Equipment Lists and Depreciation Schedules• Loan Schedules• WIP Schedule (meeting with Project Managers)• Prepares annual Budget and reviews it with the President monthly.• Responsible for the payment and timely filing of all company-estimated taxes as well as all personal estimated taxes for the owner of company.• Work closely with CPA for all tax-related issues pertaining to the company, and preparation of year-end financial statements.• Provides credit references when necessary.• Calculates Incentive Bonuses.Other:• Maintains Bonding relationships• Assists with legal representatives• Responsible for insurance activities (General Liability, Auto, W/C, Health & Dental)• Claims• Renewals (obtains quotes)• Attends Management Accountability Meetings and updates the Weekly Dashboard• Approves and schedules equipment repairs• Works with HR on personnel matters• Education and Experience Desired• Bachelor's degree in business or accounting• 5 years' experience as Accounting Manager/Controller• Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or equivilant accounting software a must• Detailed Oriented• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)• Construction Accounting experience is a plusJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:• 401(k)• 401(k) matching• Dental insurance• Health insurance• Life insurance• Paid time off• Vision insurancePhysical Setting: OfficeSchedule: Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay: Performance bonusExperience: GAAP: 1 year (Required)Accounting Manager: 5 years (Preferred)CPA: 1 year (Preferred)Ability to Commute: Blue Springs, MO 64014 (Required)Ability to Relocate: Blue Springs, MO 64014: Relocate before starting work (Required)
