As a Court Security Officer (CSO), you'll provide armed security at various courthouses under the USMS contract, ensuring the safety and integrity of the court proceedings. Your day-to-day duties will include performing entrance control to enforce identification systems, operating security screening equipment to detect weapons and other prohibited items, and conducting routine patrols of court facilities and grounds. You'll also keep a watchful eye at stationary posts, managing security equipment, and offering escort services for judges and court personnel. Beyond these duties, you'll help enforce federal law, write reports on performance issues, and maintain order within the courtrooms. To qualify, you need a high school diploma and at least three years of verified experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalent. Must be 21 or older, pass a drug screen and background check, and be capable of meeting the mandated physical demands.
