Labor Relations Consultant

Job Summary: The Labor Relations Consultant is responsible for supporting the company’s labor relations strategy and will work with Store Operations, Supply Chain Leadership, key HR partners and the Labor Relations team in responding to and resolving field issues. The responsibilities center on promoting a positive work environment for our team members and advancing team member engagement while... complying with labor and employment laws. The role will focus on activities that demonstrate to our Team Members that they have a voice and are respected and heard. Additionally, the role will have a focus on the proactive work to mitigate risk for the organization. Job Responsibility: • Responds lawfully and timely to organizing activities to collaborate with stakeholders, support local managers, and educate Team Members in our stores and buildings. Responds to workplace conflicts, and partners with local managers to resolve issues. Ensures that all critical labor relations matters are reported efficiently and consistently. • Partners with local leaders to lawfully assess and identify risk and to provide solutions in connection with Team Member engagement issues. Collaborates with field leadership to remove Team Member frustrations or communicate the company position to improve Team Member morale and engagement. • Collaborates and engages with Legal, Loss Prevention, Compliance, HR Business Partners, Field Resources, HR Centers of Excellence, Employee Relations, and other critical functional teams and leaders as needed to address vulnerability and other labor relations concerns. • Provides leadership, direction, coaching, feedback to field partners regarding Labor Relations matters and business processes. • Partners and consults with field leaders to enhance the work environment and maintain healthy relationships with and among Managers and Team Members. • During proactive visits, conducts ad hoc labor relations training sessions and partners with the operators and HR professionals to ensure that the store or facility is on process and in line with the company’s mission and values. • Connects with Team Members to identify opportunities for improvement across the enterprise in both the stores and supply chain facilities. Conducts regular visits in our stores and buildings to gather feedback, assess local leadership, diagnose engagement levels to identify areas for improvement. • Develops and implements engagement initiatives and programs to promote a positive work environment. • Monitors public platforms on social media to understand the labor landscape and national employee sentiment to improve Team Member engagement. • Responsible to provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates in connection with the labor relations activity.
