Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding environment where you are responsible for designing an entire structure? If so, you have found the perfect firm!

As a Structural Engineer at Walker Consultants, you will design some of the largest structures in the world, including resort, casino, and airport parking structures. Parking structures are similar to both bridges and buildings and require skill in both structural design and materials science due to aesthetics, long spans, thermal movements, and durability challenges. These structures endure the elements with every framing member exposed to public view. Not only will you design the structure’s framing system, but you will also participate in its layout and aesthetic appearance, interacting directly with clients and other sub-consultants.

Responsibilities

- Perform structural modeling, analysis, and design for gravity and lateral design of structures including concrete, masonry, and steel members.

- Produce construction documents for new design and restoration projects.

- Perform site visits to observe construction.

- Assist with restoration projects for existing structures.

Qualifications and Competencies

Education Requirements:

- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited University, Master's degree is a plus.

Other Requirements:

- Solid knowledge of structural engineering.

- Strong computer, writing, communication, and team skills are necessary.

Coursework:
