Position Summary...What you'll do...As a member of the Information Security (InfoSec) Global Tech Assurance team, you will play an important role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions/tooling to aide in our objective of creating automated processes and preventative/detective controls to ensure policy compliance. You will be responsible for designing and developing platforms to create consistent, verifiable, and automatic management of solutions/tooling that enable us and our stakeholders in automated detections of technical control anomalies or systematically testing for continuous compliance.About Our TeamIn an environment where IT-related risks are on the rise and constantly changing, the ability to provide confidence that our technical controls in high-risk areas are operating effectively is paramount. The Global Tech Assurance team collaborates with business partners, Governance, and Global Tech teams to ensure applications are properly deployed, monitored, and controlled to meet appropriate levels of compliance for industry, legal, governmental, risk and safety standards. We also work to create automated preventative and detective controls and processes as well as implementing systematic testing for continuous compliance to provide confidence key technical controls are functioning as intended.What you'll do...As a Staff Software Engineer - Global Tech Assurance Engineering, you'll have the following responsibilities:• Scope, design, develop, test, deploy, and enhance solutions to support our Technology Assurance initiatives• Collaborate with team members to develop best practices, technical requirements and continuous improvements for our monitoring platform or any software/tooling developed.• Cooperate with 4ITB (Tech Assurance, Governance SME, Business SME, Tech Engineering team) team to identify solutions, potential risks and drive improved product development• Develop and optimize monitoring and log analysis for solutions integrated to the telemetry platform.• Setup up rules, alerts, and reports to identify technical control anomalies or systematically testing for continuous compliance• Developing and maintaining documentation to be used as a playbook by technical teams or other team members.• Collaborate with your team to perform design and code reviews, provide constructive feedback, improve operational excellence to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable and performant solutions.• Willing to learn and contribute in any layer of the stack, from front-end development to back-end services and dataWhat you'll bring...• Experience in an infrastructure, systems, engineering, or development environment delivering operational excellence to highly complex distributed systems• Experience working with and developing monitoring/tooling/logging solutions like Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, Graphite, Nagios, New Relic, DynaTrace, and Prometheus• Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python (preferred), Go, Java, Shell, etc.• Methodical and systematic problem-solving approach, combined with a solid awareness of ownership, initiative, and drive• Experience investigating, analyzing, and troubleshooting large scale enterprise systems• Developing, mentoring, and providing opportunities for the technical reporting, alerting, and dashboards• Working knowledge of one or more cloud technologies such as AZURE, GCP, OpenStack• Experience with distributed version control like Git or similar• CI/CD Automation experience with tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins & Azure DevOps• Experience in data science/machine learning would be advantageous• Work exposure on Agile and DevOps methodologies• Adaptability and curiosity as a fast learner with rapidly changing business needs and tech advancements• Experience in data infosec tools and techniques would be significantly advantageous• Familiarity with retail, health & wellness, and financial systems would be a plusAt Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet.
