Warehouse Technician

Location: based in Atlanta, GA
Start Date: Summer 2022
Salary: $20/hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

WHAT THE JOB IS ALL ABOUT »
We are recruiting to fill the Warehouse Technician role within our growing Warehouse / Hardware team in the US. This opportunity is based at our regional headquarters in Atlanta.

With new contracts to provide services to the spectrum of the US sports market (from Nascar to the NBA), this role will provide foundational support to both the office-based and travelling/ onsite elements of the organization.

In this role, you will both assist in the function/operations of the Warehouse (inventory/procurement/shipping) as well as preparing hardware and packing kit to go onsite for permanent installation or temporary rental by our clients. You will have both regular daily responsibilities as well as less frequent but semi-regular duties - all dictated by the business cycle and needs.

Example of a typical day in this role:

8:00-9:00: Arrive
9:00-9:15: Meet with Warehouse/Hardware team to level set for the day
9:15-10:15: Update inventory with prior day’s shipments; communicate to Hardware Administrator
10:15-1:00: Pack kit to ship out to MLB stadium - count cables, box all items indicated on kit list, update “packing list” when placed on pallet / boxed, plastic wrap pallet, setup shipping pickup, communicate with relevant teams on completion of a task
1:00-2:00: Lunch
2:00-2:30: Unpack shipment receiving area
2:30-3:00: Tidy warehouse - throw away accumulated boxes / assess workstations for tool inventory
3:00-5:00: Bulk pre-build camera elements: affix camera modules to housings, quality control for fit

This role allows for progression within the business. As such, depending on your performance, fit within the team, and overall business growth, we would develop this position into a standard salaried role.

Warehouse:
  • Processes
    • Goods In / Out
      • Receiving
        • Daily: Assist Warehouse and Hardware Team / Hardware QA Team in receiving delivered goods, unpacking boxes, relaying information to relevant departments and Inventory / Procurement Administrator, and updating inventory documentation
      • Shipping
        • Daily: Assist Warehouse and Hardware Manager / Hardware Team / Hardware QA Team in packing all shipments and documenting related costs
  • Inventory
    • “Picking”
      • Daily: Assist Warehouse and Hardware Manager / Hardware Team / Hardware QA Team in pulling inventory off of shelves for projects
      • Daily: Updating inventory / Crosscheck to account for transferred materials (from stock to build stages)
      • When Applicable: Updating Warehouse Manager / Hardware Team on depleted or diminished inventory during “picking” process
  • Organization
    • Build Stations
      • Daily: Ensure that build station tools and workstations are whole/complete and clean upon morning/evening checks, reporting to Warehouse and Hardware Manager / Hardware Team, otherwise
    • Shelving
      • Weekly: Ensure that shelving and surrounding areas are organized and clean
    • General Warehouse Space
      • Daily: Ensure that the non-build station portions of the warehouse are presentable/safe / clean/functional at the end of each workday
  • Build:
    • Pre-Kit Packing
      • Regularly: Execute dictated pre-kit builds to support all departments, including collating the correct materials for the specified project, pre-labelling cables etc
    • Cameras
      • Regularly: Execute housing/camera builds, including assembly, back focusing, etc
    • Kit Packing
      • When Applicable: Organize specified materials for shipment
    • Quality Control
      • Regularly: Perform quality control/assurance checks in all stages of build/packing/kit processes

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Prior Warehouse, Inventory, and Procurement experience is advantageous
  • Any experience in technology/broadcast/AV would be beneficial
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Bright and enterprising with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work on your own initiative
  • Time management skills and ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner
  • Full valid driving license required for travel
