What we’re looking for
We're seeking a highly skilled engineer with experience in hardware and firmware development—someone who loves to tinker, explore, and solve problems creatively. At PDK, we’re a small but mighty team, so you'll have the opportunity to wear many hats, including:
- Testing, validating, and troubleshooting hardware sold or used by PDK
- Maintaining—and potentially designing—custom equipment for our manufacturing facility
- Researching and evaluating hardware integrations with third-party devices
Being a self-starter and bringing creativity to the role are essential. If you’ve got five or more Arduinos or Raspberry Pis driving various home projects, you’ll fit right in at PDK!

Qualifications
- 2+ years in a hardware or firmware QA or development role
- Ability to quickly understand and work within a large existing codebase
- Experience in C/C++ development
- Proficiency with Bash scripting
- Fine soldering of components on PCBs
Beneficial Skills
- NodeJS Development
- Experience with DipTrace or Eagle (PCB design software)
- Familiarity with CouchDB
- Knowledge of Ansible
- Raspberry Pi and Arduino development
- Professional experience installing access control, security cameras, or alarm systems
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Candidates working toward such a degree or with equivalent practical experience are also welcome to apply
Travel Requirement
- Occasional travel, less than 5% of the time
Work Location
- Onsite at our company office in Draper, Utah
