Job Summary:
The Water Technician performs duties in water plant operations including chemical analysis and treatment, process operation and maintenance of plant equipment. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate basic water treatment plant equipment and processes to continually monitor plant-wide operations.

Conduct maintenance and calibration activities on various treatment plant instrumentation.

Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements.

Take equipment and process readings at various locations throughout the plant.

Load and unload chemicals, polymers, and other materials manually and using motorized equipment.

Collect and perform tests on water samples. Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.

Maintain various records and prepare reports.

Perform shift work which includes all day, afternoon, night, weekend and holiday assignments.

Follow security and safety policies and procedures in carrying out work duties.

Regularly inspect the working condition and maintain the cleanliness of equipment and surrounding areas.

Conduct plant tours and deliver other presentations as needed.

Monitor automated control systems, query and generate work orders.

Use and care of a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and motorized tools to perform facility and equipment maintenance and repair work.

Effectively monitor and coordinate water plant operational activities.

Analyze, diagnose and perform corrective action on DCS alarms.

Effectively utilize appropriate security and safety equipment and procedures.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls or programming and/or water treatment equipment including ultrafiltration and/or membrane bioreactors

Working experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming and troubleshooting is preferred

Minimum experience of three (3) years of treatment plant operations, mechanical maintenance and repair, facilities maintenance or electrical repair work or equivalent training in a related field.
Desired Characteristics:

Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, read accurately read gauges charts/meters, provide on the job training, take accurate measurements and keep clear/organized records and read and interpret schematics

Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly wage range for this position is $22.40 to $38.07. Employees may be eligible for overtime.
