The Opportunity
The office of Technology and Data Science (Tech and Data) is looking for a talented Web Applications Analyst with expertise and experience in Drupal to join the Research and Web Technology team in the office of Tech and Data. As a Web Applications Analyst in Drupal at Urban, you will be a part of a small but mighty group of web developers. Our web applications and development team members have solid analytical skills, knowledge of new and legacy platforms, and provide creative approaches to support researchers with high-quality and innovative solutions.
Our teams work collaboratively, and the Research and Web Technology team works closely with the office of Communications and various internal research centers to ensure the smooth operation, development, and maintenance of Drupal websites.
What you’ll do
  • Work on pre-defined tasks and activities
  • Manage access, permissions, and Drupal configurations for existing and new Drupal sites
  • Apply updates to Drupal core and contributed modules
  • Adhere to a standard set of development guidelines that regulate documentation, deployment, and repository maintenance
  • Provide reviews for peer pull requests
  • Actively participate in standups, cross-functional team meetings, sprint planning sessions, and project retrospectives
  • Follow best practices for Drupal development and maintenance
  • Analyze existing techniques and provide insight to improve efficiency
  • Identify bugs and propose solutions
  • Implement code modifications, request quality control, and ensure successful deployment
Who you are
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have a degree or certificate related to the field of Web Applications and development
  • Have at least one year of related internship or similar experience
  • Proficiency in web fundamentals, like HTML/CSS, and familiarity with JavaScript
  • Have a strong working knowledge of Git
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Drupal 9 and 10 configuration systems
  • Have experience with Drupal views management, Layout builder, contributed modules, and Composer dependency management.
  • Be comfortable with setting up and troubleshooting local AMP environment (Lando, Docksal, DDEV, or similar)
  • Be familiar with Scrum/Agile, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Work well in a team setting
  • Be independent and organized, able to balance between solving issues autonomously and recognizing when to seek assistance
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Pantheon, Terminus, and Drush
  • Familiarity with MySQL
  • Acquia Certified Site Builder (Drupal 9 or 10)

The target salary range for this position is Minimum: $57,800, Midpoint: $68,443, Maximum: $79,086. Salary offered is commensurate with experience and considers internal equity. Urban is committed to supporting our staff’s physical, emotional, and financial well-being through a robust benefits package for yourself, eligible dependents, and domestic partners. It includes generous paid time off, including nine federal holidays, medical (including prescription), dental and vision insurance, and transit benefits.
Urban is unique in that we offer 403(b) retirement plan participation immediately after you’re hired and a generous employer contribution after six months of service and 500 hours, with immediate vesting. You’ll also have access to a health advocate, personal finance coaching, an Employee Assistance Program, and educational assistance for undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
