Senior Content Strategist, Consumer Healthcare – New YorkWe are seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Content Strategist with expertise in consumer healthcare to join our team. This individual will work closely with graphic designers, social media managers, and integrated media specialists to deliver high-quality, multi-channel content for major healthcare clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling in the consumer healthcare space, a strong editorial background, and experience crafting engaging content across earned, owned, and paid media channels.The Ideal Candidate Would Have:• 5-7 years of editorial experience at a media or online publishing company.• A proven track record of working under daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.• Excellent editing, writing, and grammatical skills.• A keen sense of news value and editorial judgment, particularly in consumer healthcare.• Experience writing, reporting, and interviewing within the healthcare industry.• Ability to develop content strategies that include setting goals, identifying audiences, performing research and competitor audits, selecting channels, and creating editorial calendars.• Proven ability to generate creative story ideas and execute them effectively. Strong knowledge of multimedia storytelling techniques.• Familiarity with web publishing platforms (e.g., WordPress) and digital content management tools.• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with clients and internal teams.What You Will Do:• Develop content strategies tailored to client objectives in the consumer healthcare space.• Create editorial workflows, manage content calendars, and report on content performance metrics.• Generate and oversee the production of story packages (e.g., blog posts, thought leadership op-eds, social posts/calendars, email/website copy, podcast/video scripts).• Edit stories from freelancers and internal contributors for publication across digital platforms.• Write sharp, engaging copy on a variety of consumer healthcare topics for diverse audiences.• Oversee editorial calendars for websites and social channels to ensure timely delivery of content.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, media buying, social media) to produce cohesive campaigns.• Manage analytics reporting to measure content impact and refine strategies accordingly.The Weber Shandwick Collective recognizes that your health and wellbeing are a priority.
