We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Backend Engineer – Technical Lead to join our growing engineering team. If you enjoy solving complex problems, building scalable backend systems, and mentoring a team of talented developers—all while remaining hands-on with code—this role is for you.

As a Senior Backend Engineer – Technical Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend services and APIs that power our platform. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to bring our vision to life. While leading backend initiatives, you’ll remain technically hands-on—writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code across Python, NodeJS, and JavaScript-based systems.

You’ll also help shape architectural decisions, review code, and ensure the quality and performance of the backend systems meet the highest standards. As a tech leader, you’ll mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend systems using Python, NodeJS, and JavaScript.
• Lead the technical design and architecture of backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Drive performance optimization, refactoring, and scalability improvements.
• Own the deployment and monitoring of backend services using CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Write and maintain clear documentation for code, processes, and APIs.
• Conduct code reviews, set engineering standards, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior backend engineers, supporting their growth and development.
• Stay current with backend engineering trends and emerging technologies.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience in high-growth product environments.
• Proven expertise in Python and NodeJS with a strong grasp of JavaScript fundamentals.
• Strong experience in designing RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of databases (both SQL and NoSQL) and experience in schema design and optimization.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and best practices for automated unit and integration tests.
• Experience in working with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with prior experience leading or mentoring developers.

Nice to Have

• Experience in GraphQL, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to frontend technologies or full-stack development is a plus.
• Understanding of DevOps and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
