SAP Application Developer III

Job Summary:

The SAP Application Developer III is responsible for the designing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications including research, design, documenting and modifying throughout the production lifecycle.

Essential Functions:

• Analyze, Design, code and test software through the production lifecycle according to functional/technical specifications that meet business requirements
• Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
• Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas
• Assist in software deployment as required based on build specification
• Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems
• Perform technical code reviews of peers to ensure that proper coding methodology is being adhered to
• Work within an iterative approach methodology
• Triage and work incident management requests
• Maintain an understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and configuration management
• Sets objectives for own job with the understanding of how output would affect, and impact other job areas related to own job. Contributes and provides input to the development of operational area goals within the context of own job area.  Work consists of tasks that are typically not routine, works independently and applies discretion within established operational boundaries and procedures. Work direction is only provided for new areas of work or unique assignments.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in the field of computer science or software engineering or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
• Minimum of five (5) years of advanced OOP principles and design experience required
• Experience leading a development team is preferred
• Experience developing and designing n-tier applications with multi-tier architectures is preferred
• UML Modeling experience is preferred
• Able to utilize cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) to develop, deploy, and manage scalable applications. Collaborate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to optimize cloud-based application performance.
• Integrate and leverage generative AI tools to enhance application functionality, streamline workflows, and drive innovation.

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in T-SQL development, including strong database management and query optimization skills, along with experience in the Microsoft Development Platform (Visual Studio and C#) and familiarity with SAP development technologies (ABAP and AMDP).
• Cross-Platform Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across multiple platforms, including Microsoft and SAP environments.
• Integrated Development Environments: Hands-on experience in integrated development environments (IDEs), contributing to efficient development processes.
• Software Troubleshooting: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with practical experience in software troubleshooting and debugging.
• Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of various phases of the software development life cycle, particularly Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Waterfall methodologies.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Configuration Management Tools: Understanding of configuration management tools, along with experience in scripting, programming, and automated testing toolsets.
• Adaptability and Learning: A flexible and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and methodologies.
• Self-Motivation and Attention to Detail: Highly self-motivated and directed, with a logical approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.

Licensure and Certification:

• Certifications in technical tools and/or programming languages preferred (AI, Cloud, Java, OnBase, Tibco, SAP, etc.)

Working Conditions:

• General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
