Job Description:


Welocalize is offering a unique opportunity for those who enjoy a combination of linguistic and technical work. We are seeking Spanish from Spain Lead Tester / Proofreaders for a project in Cupertino, CA. We need your native level fluency skills combined with strong technical skills.


The Onsite Lead Tester is responsible for the overall quality of their language at an account level, as well as the main point of contact for Apple Language Leads.


The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership for this role:


• Linguistic tasks

• Coordination of the linguistic team, like for example:

- Reviews copy and gives feedback to testers; communicates feedback received from client

- Supports testers in understanding corrections resulting from the arbitration process

- Acts as liaison for terminology, style issues, product features & questions

- Supports the onboarding of new testers

- Identifies linguistic-specific training needs for the language; creates, maintains, and delivers the linguistic training program

• Quality management planning and execution

• Client engagement

• Linguistic assets management


Job requirements:

On-Site in Cupertino, CA

W-2 (eligible for benefits based on hours worked)

Monday-Friday (8:30 am - 4:30 pm -> with one hour of lunch in between -> 35 hours per week)

You must have a valid visa to work in the USA


Preferred backgrounds: Marketing, Journalism, Copy Editing, Proofreading, Writing, Translation and/or Localization

Welocalize carefully considers a wide range of compensation variables including geographic location, job scope and complexity, skill level, experience, or industry- specific knowledge. 


Hourly flat rate: $40



Requirements
  • Native-level fluency in their respective language (grammar, vocabulary, composition, punctuation)
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • The availability to work full time
  • The ability, willingness and experience in communicating positively with customers at various levels
  • The ability to give clear, concise and constructive feedback
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients,
  • customers, linguists
  • The ability and willingness to train/teach others and pass on knowledge.
