Job Description

As the Safety & Security Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate the efforts of Security Officers in implementing the company's security programs, working under the guidance of the Director of Security and/or the General Manager.

  • Oversee and enforce daily procedures and responsibilities for Security personnel.
  • Managing disputes, finding practical solutions to complex problems, and maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Supervise and manage Security Officers, ensuring their adherence to company policies and state regulations.
  • Direct and/or conduct internal criminal and civil investigations; act as a liaison with Law Enforcement and Emergency Services.
  • Manage government-mandated safety and security programs, including bloodborne pathogen and hazardous communication training.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests and resort visitors, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve issues, adapting to their evolving needs.
  • Perform essential computer functions, such as typing incident reports, managing email communications, researching safety standards, and maintaining security systems and electronic key controls.
  • Ensure that all security activities are compliant with corporate policies and state laws.
  • Supervise or conduct incident investigations as required, responding to critical incidents and managing incident scenes, including fire alarms.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of security systems, electronic locks, and key control access systems.
  • Write detailed and accurate reports promptly for daily review meetings, including documenting crimes, internal investigations, and other required reports.
  • Oversee resort surveillance, including vehicle, foot, and video monitoring of pools and storage areas.
  • Coordinate and supervise security for special events.
  • Perform duties of subordinate officers and, if needed, the Security and Safety Director.
  • Attend and participate in operational, staff, safety committee, and risk management meetings as directed.
  • Ensure adherence to Westgate’s Disaster Plans, Emergency Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Security experience.
  • 1+ years of Supervisory experience.
  • Hotel experience is preferred but not required.
  • Red Cross Certification, CPR, AED, First aid.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in dynamic environments.
  • Must be able to stand and remain mobile for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be over 21 years old.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
