Baker (Pastry Cook)

We currently have an opening for a full-time Baker (Pastry Cook) in our Dining Services Department. In this role you will be responsible for the production of scratch made breads and rolls, pastries, cookies and just about anything that you can put in an oven.

 

The starting pay range is $16.31 to $18.77 per hour depending on relevant experience.

Responsibilities
  • Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service


Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
  • Minimal experience in a commercial kitchen is required. Full training will be given.
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (as needed).
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education
