We prevent attackers from tampering with and altering software and firmware, and severely limit maneuverability, to ensure that mission critical systems remain resilient and operate normally even during an attack.We are looking for individuals to join our team to accelerate the digital transformation of our customers with a new generation of Mission Critical AI Systems in an AI-first world with the most exacting standards for safety, security, performance, and reliability.Success will be determined by our ability to innovate with velocity and sell sophisticated cyber solutions.If you’re passionate about amplifying your impact on the world in a caring, respectful culture that is based on growth mindset, diversity, inclusion, and customer focused, come join us and help lead the way into the future of the intelligent edge!ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe Security Officer and will report to the Star LabGeneral Manager.The Star Lab Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring company compliance to a Special Security Agreement (SSA) and a National Security Agreement (NSA).The Security Officer will additionally be responsible overseeing Star Lab’s Security Program and responsibility for all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) protecting classified information and company assets.The Security Officer will ensure that the Facility Security Officer (FSO) interprets, implements, and maintains ahighly effective security program consistent with all regulatory, government policies, and providessupplemental guidance to the business and its leaders.The Security Officer will also oversee the Trade Compliance Program within a startup environment. Star Lab is seeking a experienced self-motivated leader with a proven history of leading a team in the area of security compliance and operational needs.Responsibilities• Manage and lead all security compliance efforts around a Special Security Agreement (SSA), National Security Agreement (NSA), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency(DCSA), and National Industrial Security Program (NISP).• Prepare and lead company interactions and briefings of the CFIUS Monitoring Agency (CMA) and Government Security Committee (GSC).• Manage the internal security self-inspection and audits for existing and new processes including but not limited to preparing the audit plan, audit documentation, and completing internal and external audits• Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to develop, implement, and execute internal control assessments and audits of operations, financial reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations and make recommendations on how to better manage risks and improve controls.• Complete audits and reviews consistent with company’s Affiliate Operations Plan (AOP), Technology Control Plan (TCP), and Electronic Communications Plan (ECP).• Oversight ofthe FSO office including security clearance process for employees; process personnel, facility clearance information, periodic reinvestigations, provide foreign pre / post travel briefings, manage the Defense Information Security System (DISS) database, Security Information Management System (SIMS), National Industrial Security System (NISS) and related files.• Lead the development and execution of all securityrelated education for employees, to include initial briefings and annual refresher training required by the NSA, NISPOM, and compliance related training.• Prepare and report security relevant information as directed by the customer.• Ensure that the company manages / maintains the facility clearance documents (SF-328, DD 441 and DD441-1), process and maintain classified document accountability records, and provides security support and direction including the development and maintenance of DD254s and security guidance.• Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members.ABOUT YOUCore Competencies & Demonstrated Success• Familiarity with FCL, CFIUS, export controls, sanctions, or other related USG processes• Experience with foreign ownership, control, or influence agreements and mitigation strategies• Experience using government security regulations, manuals, and processes, to include the NISPOM, SEAD, and OPSEC principles.• Experience in working with the Department of Defense policies and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).• DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities certificate from CDSE.• Self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiples tasks.• Strong and flexible research, analysis, writing, and editing skills to support technical, legal, and financial questions and contribute to governance documentation and reporting.• Excellent verbal and written communicationswith strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Required Qualifications• Active SECRET security clearance• BS / MS - Ideally with a focus area in National Security, Cybersecurity, or International Relations• 3+ years of relevant risk analysis experience or experience supporting national security issues• Experience as a Compliance Officer, Security Officer, and / or Facility Security Officer• Proficient with DISS, NISS and SIMS• Proficient with Microsoft Office SuiteLast updated : 2024-08-30
