The Amazon Security Special Programs Evaluations Assessments & Response (SPEAR) Team is seeking a driven, innovative, results-oriented technical program manager (TPM) for the Wireless Security (WiSec) Preliminary Evaluations (PE) team. The WiSec PE team is responsible for assessing Amazon’s wireless security posture on a global scale and utilizing hardware and automation to expand WiSec’s scope of influence. WiSec PE takes discreet wireless security findings and implements processes to identify and remediate them globally. The team works closely with other teams to adopt innovative technologies and incorporate them into platforms that audit all aspects of Amazon’s wireless ecosystem. The objective of this program is to enable wireless security at scale.
The WiSec PE team is looking for a Wireless Security TPM to help manage a program to automate wireless security validation throughout Amazon. The WiSec TPM will check that Amazon’s wireless infrastructure operates at the highest standards to maintain customer trust and will be responsible for managing sprint cycles, procuring capabilities (both hardware and software), executing contracts, coordinating with legal advisors, communicating program status and needs, overseeing the replacement of legacy test devices and the installation of new test devices at Amazon facilities all over the globe. If you are a self-starter with effective communication skills and enjoy challenging opportunities to own your own program, improve efficiency and deliver results independently, this position will provide you with an outstanding opportunity to showcase your skills. A successful candidate will have a good mix of networking knowledge, project management experience and a demonstrated track record of helping an engineering team achieve goals. This role is remote US, but requires up to 50% travel both within and outside of the United States.
Key job responsibilities
As a TPM on the team, you will help manage all aspects of your own program by scoping projects, acquiring resources, working with engineers to create achievable roadmaps, influencing external teams to expand your program, monitoring progress, tracking findings and clearly communicating results and blockers. You will apply effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to articulate project status, advocate for necessary resources and escalate findings. You will operate independently and drive detailed business and technical discussions clearly and concisely up to the Director level. You will work with teams across Amazon to tactically improve wireless security, answer external inquiries and implement security best practices. You will support security projects and escalate appropriately, when needed.
