We are looking for a Lead Battery Pack Product Owner to join our team. The goal of a Lead Battery Pack Product Owner at Wisk is to lead the team and be responsible for end-to-end development of battery module, pack, enclosure, thermal systems. You will be part of the ESPS Energy Storage & Power System team that is accountable to deliver the complete mechanical and thermal system for the Wisk Gen6 autonomous vehicle .


Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain view office.


What you will do:
  • As part of the ESPS organization, and deployed in Battery Pack as a product, you will lead team and act as a Lead Battery Pack Product Owner for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
  • Full battery pack product design responsibility, from concept through production launch and ramp
  • Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Guide the team to innovate on the systems and components level for both performance, cost and manufacturability 
  • Develop and grow the team, including professional development for current team members and responsibility for team grows 
  • Guide the team’s work by identifying key goals and deliverables with execution 
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams of system, structural analysis, cell, electrical, manufacture, etc to develop optimized solution throughout the full development cycle


Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent with 12+ years of working experience and 4+ years of full-time design experience in High voltage battery design, including some of the following: enclosure or module structures, cell interconnects, high voltage or low voltage connections, coolant systems, adhesives and sealants, coatings
  • 2+ year’s experience in leading the design for program and 2+ years’ management experience
  • Experience in both prototype and high volume production parts for HV battery packs 
  • Strong Engineering fundamentals in mechanical design, heat transfer, FEA, fluids, electronics.
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes for battery development
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, 2D Drawings (including GD&T); 3DX or NX Preferred
  • Familiarity in full product development cycle
  • Solid people, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and present options at director levels
  • Methodical and diligent thinker, with a high attention for detail and a desire to work with a strong sense of quality and craft

  • Experience with electrical powertrain systems 
  • Experience with DO-311A, DO-160, etc


$207,655 - $244,300 a year
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $207,655 - $244,300 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.

Wisk HQ is located in Mountain View just a couple of hundred feet from Shoreline Lake and its surrounding walking/jogging trails.
