We are looking for a highly motivated DevOps engineer to join us in helping Workday to deliver reliable, resilient SaaS products to our customers.The Packaged Content team is responsible for the architecture, maintenance, deployment, provisioning and monitoring of the multiple services that support all standards-based eLearning content (SCORM/ AICC/ xAPI etc) within the Workday product and also building exciting product features to support and enhance these services. Our tech stack includes AWS, Docker, Terraform, Kotlin, Scala and PythonThis position will partner closely with the wider Learning group and teams based in Canada and the U.S.A.About the RoleAs a DevOps engineer in our team, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative cloud platform technologies (AWS, GCP) and implement tools to automate maintenance and support our engineering environments. You will also work closely with our Platform Engineering team to deploy changes to our engineering environments with a view to enabling verification of these changes.About YouWhat will you be doing?• Design, build, enhance, and maintain large-scale customer facing systems using AWS and GCP, specifically to enable end users to engage with media content• Shape the future direction of our large, Infrastructure as Code, terraform codebase• Contribute to gathering technical requirements and architectural decision making• Mentor other developers by sharing your expertise• Respond to production monitoring: triage, fix, and resolution. Retro and act on incidents to continually improve our systems and processes.• Deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and in-depth code reviews• Drive process and tooling improvements• Work on an Agile Scrum team that delivers on shared commitmentsBasic Qualifications:• 5+ years DevOps experience• Experience with public Cloud platforms, specifically AWS• Proficiency with deployment automation / configuration management tool, specifically Terraform• A consistent track record of delivering and scaling production quality softwareOther Qualifications• A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience• Consistent track record of building tooling, automation, and/or services in one or multiple languages (e.g., Go, Python, Bash or Java)• Experience debugging and optimizing systems and code• Ability to architect, analyze, and support complex distributed systems• Automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications with Docker or Kubernetes• Passion to optimize and automate, with the maturity to know when and where it’s appropriate.• Mentoring and coaching engineers to inspire professional growth• Experience influencing and affecting technological change at the team levelOur Approach to Flexible WorkWith Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
