Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding.

WBL is a U.S. based company with a 100% remote workforce.

This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements.

The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language.

Job Description:

The Data Analyst will be responsible for the intake, validation, and management of large datasets used for risk modeling and financial analysis. This role will ensure the integrity and security of the data, collaborating closely with the Data Team Lead and other departments. The Data Engineer Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring that the data used in credit risk models and financial planning is accurate, reliable, and well-organized for analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and update databases that store key financial and operational data. Ensure that data is structured efficiently for use in credit risk models and financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, especially the econometric analysts and data engineers, to ensure that data flows smoothly between departments.
  • Manage the collection and intake of large datasets from various sources. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of incoming data by conducting thorough validation checks.
  • Provide accurate data to the econometric analysts and assist in transforming raw data into valuable insights for risk models and forecasting reports.
  • 100% fluency in English, with exceptional English verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Finance.
  • 2 years of experience in data engineering, finance, or related roles preferred.
  • Needs to have advanced SQL, Power BI and VBA experience
  • Familiarity with data security practices (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required; Teams experience required.
