The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.POSITION SUMMARY:World Relief seeks a Digital Literacy Specialist. This position has two main responsibilities: 1) Coordinate and instruct newly enrolled adult English language learners in digital literacy lessons to ensure equitable access to the online language classroom and 2) distribute technology to learners enrolled in remote English coursesROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Digital Literacy Instruction and Technology Distribution:• Provide student-centered digital literacy instruction for English language learners (newly arriving refugee, asylees, and community immigrants) focused on building the fundamental foundation for practical digital literacy skills essential for success in the online language classroom.• Prior to the beginning of classes each month, coordinate with both learners and interpreters to ensure all eligible students receive digital literacy intensives to successfully prepare newly enrolled low-level adult English language learners to join their online classes.• Create a learning environment that is welcoming, accessible, engaging, and participatory.• Schedule and hold appointments to solve technology issues for English language learners.• Coordinate with Technology Specialist to distribute and retrieve student devices.Maintain accurate documentation of student device distribution and retrieval.• Professional Development:• Complete a minimum of 12 hours of professional development each fiscal year.• Accept additional responsibilities for the Adult Ed Department & WR as they arise and as capacity allows.• Attend staff meetings as required.• Participate in Adult Ed Department sponsored events.JOB REQUIREMENTS:• Mature and personal Christian faith• Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief• Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities• Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document• Familiar with Apple products, hotspots, and digital learning tools• Enjoy distilling and explaining how to use digital tools and hardware, with patience in repetition• Ability to scaffold stages of digital literacy• Comfortable working with interpreters when delivering instruction• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills• Ability to work in a challenging, fluid and oft-changing environment• Enjoy learning, teaching, and helping others• Ability to work in the evening up to twice per week.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• B.A. in related fieldCompensation is commensurate with experience.World Relief offers a competitive benefits package and employee discount program for full-time and part-time employees.World Relief is honored to be recognized with the Gold-level Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation for exceeding the core components of our well-being program including leadership and culture, program foundations and execution, and whole person health.• **Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
