Overview / Job Summary:

This position is a 9 Month Full-time position, as defined by policy to mean working a minimum of 40 hours per week mid-August through Mid-May. The primary responsibility of an Instructor is to provide the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing the duties in the assigned instructional modality (hybrid, online or face to face) during the day, evening, or weekend on any WSU Tech) campus/off-campus/on-line location. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic planning, serving on various committees, recruiting, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations as needed.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and updating course materials consistent with program standards and competencies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and performance.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
  • Utilizing various teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Engaging in curriculum development and assessment to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other faculty and departments to enhance program offerings.

Education:

  • PN Technical Certificate required for LPN, Associates degree required or BSN for RN.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • PN Technical Certificate required for LPN, Associates degree required or BSN for RN.
  • Has and maintains a current Kansas LPN license (required) with minimum two years current clinical experience, one of which must be equivalent to one year full-time in a licensed long-term care facility or has and maintains a current RN license (required) with minimum two years current clinical experience.
  • Has and maintains current American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR certification. 
  • Yearly TB test and other immunizations or physical examinations as required by clinical sites, obtained at own expense.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
