The Buyer II is responsible... for purchasing Goods and/or Services at the most favorable prices consistent with the required quality, delivery and service in line with company guidelines and with guidance from the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager. This person also works with vendors to build long lasting relationships and put together stocking agreements and is responsible for inventory terms and dollars.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks for the Buyer II

- Have an up to date knowledge of the company's production or project schedules and lead time requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing of goods and/or services within company policy and procedures and authorized expenditure
- Verify vendor pricing and if necessary, obtain comparative quotes.
- Ensure efficient communication of orders to suppliers and have measures in place to monitor the supplier's delivery performance.
- Expedite purchases to ensure supplier's delivery performance
- Participate and lead formal Request for Quote (RFQ) process for goods and/or services
- Maintain supplier records and files within the relevant company systems.
- Support monthly reporting requirements relating to procurement activities and KPI's
- Respond to any queries raised with regards to the suppliers and/or the procurement process
- Assist in keeping the workplace a clean and safe environment through the implementation and ongoing 5S and Safety program.
- Actively participate and contribute to existing and new continuous improvement activities
- Any other work related duties as required by the departmental manager.
Position Requirements for the Buyer II
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a Sourcing environment (7-10 years preferred)
Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Minimum three years of experience in a sourcing position, including negotiation involvement
- 7-10 years buying experience preferred
Salary range:
$62,000.00 - $99,000.00
