Job Overview:

We are seeking a creative and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring with them a background of experiences in consumer electronics and/or industrial/commercial product development, demonstrating a hands-on approach taking a design through to manufacturing. This role demands a candidate who thrives in the formative stages of product development within a fast-paced startup environment, adept at juggling multiple parallel projects.

• Design and Develop Mechanical Systems: Focus on product enclosures and fixtures for production, ensuring designs meet manufacturing requirements and performance specifications.
• Product Lifecycle Participation: Engage in all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial concept through to high-volume production readiness.
• Materials and Stress Testing: Apply expertise in materials selection, stress testing, and designing for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure robust and reliable products.
• Problem-Solving: Apply complex problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges efficiently and effectively.
• Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data and experience to foresee and mitigate potential issues during the design and manufacturing process.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience

• Product Design Experience: Experience designing product enclosures and fixtures for production.
• Materials and Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with materials selection, stress testing, and designing for manufacturability.
• Manufacturing Experience: Experience with injection molding, casting, and metal forming/bending processes.
• Environmental Certifications Knowledge: Knowledge of various environmental certifications (IP/IPx).

• Product Development Track Record: A proven track record of developing commercially successful mechanical products.
• Certification and Compliance: Familiarity with product certification and regulatory compliance processes.
• Product Lifecycle Management: Experience managing full product development cycles and high-volume production processes.
• Simulation Skills: Skill in CAD simulation for mechanical, flow, and thermal analysis to enhance prototype development.
• Prototyping Knowledge: Knowledge of 3D printing technologies for prototyping and low-volume assembly.
• Experience with Electromechanical Systems: Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs.
