Senior / Staff Verification and Validation Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the overall HW and FW verification and validation strategies from component up to the vehicle. Key will be to bring together the various verification initiatives that are already happening and assure that verification is happening as far upstream as possible, that the right assets and test cases are in place, and that results are properly documented and communicated. You will have experience in complex vehicle systems, managing teams and delivering results on a tight timeline. You will work with engineering leaders across hardware, software, infrastructure, procurement, finance, vehicle engineering, and various suppliers to develop project schedules, identify milestones, flag risks, estimate budgets, and clearly communicate on-going progress to the exec team.


In this role, you will:
  • Own the end-to-end verification and validation strategy
  • Develop the 
  • Report vehicle attribute status in executive, and program meetings and at quality gates
  • Develop the vehicle validation plan and align with the component and system DV plans, assuring that key components are qualified and fit for purpose
  • Support the attribute teams with escalating and resolving issues. Track VI issues, issues created by VI, and issues addressed to VI
  • Align VI deliverables with company milestones, and work with the attribute teams that plans, and resources are allocated accordingly
  • Lead attribute data is cross functionally shared and visible across the company to support business decisions
  • Lead the balancing of attributes and provide a recommendation for resolution
  • Support the refinement of vehicle attribute requirements and cascading, to capture lessons learned. Collaborate with Product, UX, and design teams to support in definition of new requirements coming in
  • Day to day leadership of the team, building the organization, and closing capability gaps
  • Ownership of the Vehicle Attributes budget


Qualifications
  • Engineering degree with 20+ years hands on experience in vehicle attribute development in one or more of key vehicle attribute areas
  • Excellent communications skills to coordinate engineering groups in testing needs
  • Leadership
  • Excellent organizational skills 


Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $177,000 to $294,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
